Beirut: The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has urged both the Lebanese side and the Israeli entity to respect UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

According to Qatar News Agency, UNIFIL stated that its forces are actively deployed on the ground in southern Lebanon, where they constantly monitor the Israeli presence and airstrikes against Lebanon. The statement indicated that unauthorized weapons were found inside Lebanese territory.

UNIFIL has called on all parties to adhere to Resolution 1701 both in letter and spirit, emphasizing the need to avoid jeopardizing the current fragile stability and the livelihoods of civilians.

Despite the ceasefire agreement that took effect on November 27, 2024, the Israeli entity has committed over 1,260 breaches, resulting in more than 100 fatalities and 330 injuries.
