The Global Media and Information Literacy Week Conference is set to kick off in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday, under the theme: “The new digital frontiers of information: Media and Information Literacy for public-interest information”.
Organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Government Communication, the two-day conference features five key sessions with over 30 local, Arab, and international speakers.
The discussions will focus on the significance of media and information awareness in addressing the accelerating changes in the establishment, dissemination, and consumption of information, as well as the role of education in enhancing media literacy.
The event aims to expedite dialogue, share knowledge, and enhance cooperation among sectors concerned with bolstering media and information awareness, including government authorities, educational institutions, civil society organizations, media platforms, and tech fi
rms.
