Marrakech – Under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom of Morocco is a ‘strategic and reliable’ partner of all African countries, Chad’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chadians Abroad and International Cooperation, Mahamat Saleh Annadif, said.
‘I would like to pay great tribute to the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, on the continent, making the Kingdom a strategic and reliable partner of all African countries,’ Saleh Annadif underlined in a speech read on his behalf, Saturday in Marrakech, by Chad’s Ambassador to Morocco, Hassan Adoum Bakhit Haggar, during the Ministerial Coordination Meeting on HM the King’s Initiative to Enhance Atlantic Ocean Access for Sahel Countries.
In this regard, he welcomed this Royal Initiative aimed at promoting access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, noting that Chad’s regional economic integration project goes hand in hand with the vision of His Majesty the King for this region.
The head of Chadian diplomacy expressed his thanks to
the Sovereign for the interest shown by the Kingdom in the Sahel, a region facing political and security problems.
Security and development are inseparable, the Chadian minister stressed, calling for supporting relevant initiatives in this region.
Chad affirms that only inclusive development will stop the spread of terrorism in the Sahel, Saleh Annadif underlined.
Initiated by Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, this meeting is also attended by Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe abroad, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Nigeriens Abroad, Bakary Yaou Sangaré, and Director General of Africa and African Integration at the Chadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chadians Abroad and International Cooperation, Abakar Kourma.
