Doha: The UN Human Rights Council condemned Wednesday Iran's attacks on its Gulf neighbors, urging it to quickly provide compensation to all its victims.
According to Qatar News Agency, the 47-member council endorsed a resolution put forward by the six GCC states and Jordan condemning Iran's moves to close the Strait of Hormuz and demanding that Tehran immediately cease all unjustified attacks. The resolution highlights the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region and emphasizes the need for Iran to adhere to international laws and norms.
The resolution also calls for Iran to provide immediate compensation to the affected parties and to engage in dialogue to prevent further escalations. The council's decision comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region, which have raised concerns over global oil supply and regional security.
