Kyiv: The Ukrainian Air Force announced on Sunday that its defenses shot down 63 drones launched by Russia last night, while 16 other drones disappeared from radar screens.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement that Russia attacked Ukrainian airspace overnight using 79 drones, targeting several areas including Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv.
The statement added that Ukraine’s defenses were able to shoot down 63 drones, while 16 others disappeared from radar screens without causing any negative consequences.
Russia and Ukraine release daily claims of shooting down drones, although it is difficult to verify the accuracy of these reports due to the ongoing war, which has made it challenging to access combat areas and verify the data.
