Doha: Ukraine announced Monday that its forces had regained control of four towns in the eastern Donetsk region. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said Ukrainian troops had recaptured three towns previously held by Russian units in Donetsk.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported that another village, Novomykhailivka, had also been retaken, confirming the withdrawal of Russian forces from the area.
Since the outbreak of the war in Feb. 2022, both Russia and Ukraine have issued near-daily battlefield claims that cannot be independently verified amid the ongoing conflict.
