Kyiv: Ukraine announced on Saturday that four people were injured in an overnight drone attack carried out by Russia targeting the capital, Kyiv, and other regions across the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, Mayor of Kyiv, Vitalii Klitschko, stated in a press release that three people were wounded as a result of drone strikes, which also caused damage to several commercial buildings and sparked large fires in various parts of the capital.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, reported that one person was injured in the northeastern city.
In related developments, Ukraine's Air Force said that air defense systems shot down 56 out of 88 drones, while 24 others were diverted using electronic jamming systems deployed by the military.
Since the beginning of the war in February 2022, both Russia and Ukraine continued to report repelling attacks by the other side. However, such claims remain unverified by independent sources due to ongoing hostilities and the challenges of access.
