London: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during a phone call Friday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed the importance of the 10-day deadline given by US President Donald Trump to Russia to make progress towards ending the war between Moscow and Kyiv, which has been raging for more than three years.

According to Qatar News Agency, a UK government spokeswoman said in a statement that "the two leaders welcomed the new deadline set by Trump for Russia to stop stalling tactics and make tangible progress on a peace agreement," adding that they agreed that "Russia is the sole obstacle to peace."
