London: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced Sunday that the UK had reached an agreement with Ukraine to provide it with approximately $2 billion for the purchase of 5,000 air defense missiles.
According to Qatar News Agency, during a press conference following the conclusion of a European leaders’ summit in London, Starmer mentioned that this support will be vital for protecting critical infrastructure now and strengthening Ukraine in securing the peace when it comes.
Starmer added that many countries unveiled their desire to be part of the expected European allies that would provide aid to Ukraine.
The UK Ministry of Defense confirmed that Thales Group will manufacture lightweight, multi-purpose missiles for Ukraine, with Thales Group highlighting that those missiles can be launched from a variety of platforms on land, sea, and air.
