UK Foreign Office Summons Iranian Ambassador in Response to Iran’s Role in Recent Events across Middle East

London: The British Foreign Office has summoned the Iranian Ambassador to the United Kingdom. The summons follows escalatory behavior by Iran which has attempted to draw the region into a wider conflict-attacking countries who had not attacked them.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement by the British Foreign Office said that the Minister for the Middle East, Hamish Falconer, summoned the Ambassador of Iran to the UK, Seyed Ali Mousavi, in response to Iran's role in recent events across the Middle East.

"This presents a clear threat to the security of the region and to the hundreds of thousands of British citizens in the region," the statement added.
