London: The government of the United Kingdom expected on Monday over 30 countries to participate in peacekeeping efforts in Ukraine, should a ceasefire agreement be reached between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Qatar News Agency, a spokesperson for the British Prime Minister's office mentioned that many countries will provide military troops, while a larger group will contribute in other ways. The spokesperson highlighted that British Premier, Keir Starmer, still believes that American security guarantees are essential for the successful implementation of the plan.
This development follows an announcement by US President, Donald Trump, stating that he would speak with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, on Tuesday. Meanwhile, military leaders are preparing for a meeting in London to discuss peacekeeping plans for Ukraine.
The UK is at the forefront of European and international efforts to provide security guarantees to protect Ukraine if an agreement is reached between Russia and Ukraine.
