UK Announces Aid Package for Gaza

LONDON: UK's Development Minister Anneliese Dodds announced a 17 million pound aid package and reiterated need for much more aid to enter Gaza. The announcement was made during her briefing to the House of Commons on the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and her country's assistance to the Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, the UK support will be distributed to the UN and key medical partners to ensure that tens of thousands of civilians receive the healthcare, food, and shelter they require. Dodds emphasized that the aid will address the immediate needs of the affected population in Gaza.

Dodds further highlighted that the latest financial commitment increases the UK's total support for the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Palestinian refugees in the region to 129 million pounds for this financial year. This significant funding aims to provide humanitarian assistance and bolster relief efforts in the region.
