Abu dhabi: HH President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) Keir Starmer discussed developments in the Middle East, particularly those related to the Palestinian Cause. This was in a phone conversation held Wednesday, during which both leaders highlighted the importance of advancing towards a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution as the path to fostering stability in the region and building a better future for all its countries and peoples.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the urgency of reaching an immediate ceasefire on the Gaza Strip and the need to ensure the uninterrupted and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to the Strip in order to alleviate the suffering of its population.
For his part, Keir Starmer briefed the President of the UAE on the UK's efforts to pave the way for peace, security, and the provision of humanitarian relief by facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza to ease the dire suffering there. He also noted that his government is working together with its allies on a peace plan built on a ceasefire that would ultimately lead to a viable two-state solution.
The two sides also reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various fields.
