UAE President and Ukrainian Counterpart Deliberate on Regional Security and Bilateral Cooperation

Abu dhabi: HH President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with HE President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The meeting focused on security developments in the region amid ongoing military escalation, discussing implications for regional and international peace and security, as well as impacts on international navigation and the global economy.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that both leaders addressed Iran's ongoing aggression against the UAE and other regional countries, which targets civilians, facilities, and civilian infrastructure. The Ukrainian President reiterated his condemnation of this aggression, highlighting it as a violation of sovereignty, international law, the UN Charter, and an undermining factor for regional and international peace and security.

Furthermore, the meeting explored opportunities to advance bilateral cooperation under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Ukraine, reaffirming their shared commitment to achieving its objectives. In this context, the UAE's President reiterated his country's support for all efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace in Ukraine.
