Beirut: Two people were killed and 20 others injured on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut's southern suburbs, Lebanon's Health Ministry said.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry's Emergency Operations Center stated that the strike targeted the Mreijeh area in Beirut's southern suburbs. Among the 20 injured were four children and four women.

The Israeli entity has continued to carry out airstrikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs despite a cease-fire agreement that entered into force on April 16. This has prompted warnings from the UN and international bodies about a potential deterioration in the region's security and humanitarian conditions.
