Ankara: Turkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that no party is seeking to resume the US-Israeli war against Iran following the expiry of the ceasefire period next week. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Fidan emphasized the complexity of the issues at hand, which may require an extension of the ceasefire. He warned that continued reliance on external assistance would only extend the region's challenges.
According to Qatar News Agency, Fidan affirmed Turkiye's commitment to ending regional conflicts and promoting economic progress. He underscored the importance of regional countries taking responsibility for addressing their own issues. On the Palestinian issue, the Turkish Foreign Minister pointed out the persistent intentions of the Israeli occupation. He stressed that the policy aimed at depopulating the Gaza Strip has not changed, highlighting the ongoing genocide in Gaza in various forms.
Fidan further noted that while the intent behind Israeli actions is widely recognized, it is seldom openly acknowledged. He remarked that Israeli expansionism has transcended being merely a regional security concern and has escalated into a global security issue.
