Turkiye Has Deported Nearly 43,000 Irregular Immigrants Since June

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the deportation of 42,875 irregular immigrants between Jun. 1 and Sept. 22, 2023.

In statements following a meeting of the Turkish government in Ankara, Yerlikaya pointed out that 97, 363 irregular immigrants have been arrested since his assumption of duty on Jun. 1 until Sept. 22, 2023, pointing out that such figures do not include infiltration attempts through borders.

Commenting on the most countries from which immigrants and irregular immigrants come, Yerlikaya outlined that they come from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan through the Iranian borders.

Turkish Ministry of Interior will embark on operating the application of mobile immigration offices nationwide starting from Nov. 1, 2023, he said.

He underscored the significance of vetting the identities of people everywhere, including football stadiums.
