Turkish, French Presidents Discuss Peace Efforts in Ukraine, Situation Gaza Developments in Phone Call

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the potential peace process between Russia and Ukraine and the latest developments in the Gaza Strip in a phone call Thursday with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, Erdogan stressed his country's continued efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war with a just peace and its readiness to host any peace negotiations between the two countries. He noted Ankara's close monitoring of the talks held in Alaska and Washington.

Regarding the situation in Gaza, Erdogan affirmed Turkiye's efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Strip, which is experiencing a significant humanitarian crisis. He emphasized the need to restrain Israel's actions, which he described as reckless and part of an accelerating plan to occupy Gaza.
