Turkish Foreign Minister, Azerbaijani Counterpart Discuss Peace Talks with Armenia

Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the ongoing peace negotiations between Baku and Yerevan in a phone call on Friday with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ceyhun Bayramov. During the call, the two ministers also discussed relations between the two countries and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

According to Qatar News Agency, in March 2025, Azerbaijan and Armenia reached an understanding on the text of a peace agreement to be signed between the two countries. This development follows years of border disputes and clashes after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, which resulted in thousands of displaced persons and casualties.
