Doha: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call Wednesday with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, to discuss the latest efforts to end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussion follows recent peace negotiations held in Istanbul on May 15-16. These negotiations resulted in an agreement for the exchange of 2,000 prisoners between the two countries, marking a significant step towards de-escalating the conflict.
