Ankara: Turkiye's defense and aerospace exports rose to USD 962 million in April, nearing the USD 1 billion mark.
According to Qatar News Agency, Secretary of Turkish Defense Industries, Haluk Gorgun, announced on his social media accounts that the sector continued its growth in April. Total exports reached USD 2.871 billion between January and April, representing a 28 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Achieved despite intensifying global competition and a state of uncertainty, this performance reflects Turkiye's sustainable export strategy and the country's ability to manufacture high value-added products and systems with proven effectiveness in the field, Gorgun added. He noted that Turkiye aims to further strengthen its export performance by expanding international partnerships, deepening its industrial ecosystem, and increasing its production capacity.
Turkiye's defense and aerospace industries continue to expand their presence in international markets as part of a steady upward trajectory in recent years. Export values rose from about USD 2.2 billion in 2020 to USD 3.2 billion in 2021, then to USD 4.4 billion in 2022, reaching a record USD 7.15 billion in 2024, surpassing government expectations.
