The Minister of Agriculture meets with the head of the Environmental Quality Authority to discuss common issues

Ramallah – Together – Within the framework of the directions of the nineteenth government headed by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Mustafa towards strengthening partnerships, the Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Salimiyeh, and the head of the Environmental Quality Authority, Dr. Nisreen Al-Tamimi, discussed issues of common interest and cross-cutting issues within the scope of the work of the two institutions, as well as a number of future projects. .

This trend comes in light of the urgent need to protect the available natural resources, especially in light of the fierce occupation attack on land, people, the environment and various natural resources.

The issues of climate change and the interventions and achievements that have been made in this field were also discussed, in addition to joint projects that would limit the deterioration of the agricultural sector due to climate change.

In this context, the project to lift protection for private natural reserves and unify viewpoints was discussed in par
ticular, and the impact of this on the development and development of agriculture, increasing the agricultural area, confronting the policies of the occupation on the lands, and the importance of conducting survey studies on the subject of nature reserves and biodiversity.

The two parties agreed to intensify meetings and discussions to reach understandings that would find solutions to many issues related to environmental impacts, especially the issue of crushers and other industrial facilities.

Minister Salimiyeh stressed that the Ministry will be keen in all its projects to study the environmental impact of all interventions to ensure that all environmental requirements that contribute to improving the environment and reducing negative impacts on it are taken into account.

In turn, Al-Tamimi stressed the importance of coordination between the Ministry and the Environmental Quality Authority because of its importance in improving the quality of services, controlling infringements, and conducting many joint
studies that would contribute to the environment and sustainable Palestinian agriculture.
