“Throughout the tournament, our young players have shown fighting spirit and strong concentration, not dropping any points since the defeat against Kenya in the opening match”, the captain of the Moroccan team Mehdi Ait Barhouch told MAP.
This feat is the culmination of long-term work by the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation, which has made basic training one of its priorities, sparing no effort in supporting young Moroccan tenniswomen and tennis players, underlined the Moroccan coach, congratulating the Moroccan quartet on their efforts in this competition.
For their part, the Moroccan players expressed their joy after the victory, stating that they came to Kenya with the purpose to win the Cup despite the high altitude that complicated the task at the start of the tournament.
Indeed, after the defeat against the host team in the opening match, the Moroccan squad succeeded to grab 4 victories, against Uganda (3-0), Namibia (3-0), Nigeria (3-0) and Botswana (3-0), before defeating Tunisia in the final
