Damascus: Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al Shaibani and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan affirmed Monday that Israel must abandon its expansionist policies in order to achieve stability in Syria and the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, during a press conference held in Damascus with his Turkish counterpart, following a meeting between Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa and a Turkish delegation, the Syrian Foreign Minister said that the President discussed several topics with the delegation, primarily economic and trade cooperation, especially after the lifting of US sanctions on Syria, as well as strengthening intelligence and military cooperation and the return of refugees.
He added that they also discussed combating terrorism, fighting ISIS, preventing its resurgence in Syria, and developing a joint vision regarding northeastern Syria.
For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister affirmed that the meetings with the Syrian side were fruitful, as important issues were discussed based on strategic cooperation, given his country's strong commitment to Syria's stability.
He noted that the Israeli entity's attacks on Syrian territories were addressed, and the necessity for Israel to abandon its expansionist policies was emphasized.
