Syrian President Discusses International Support for His Country’s New Path with UN Security Council Delegation

Damascus: Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa met Thursday with members of the UN Security Council to discuss the ongoing developments in his country and the steps the government is taking to ensure the success of the transitional process.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Syrian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the UN delegation expressed to Al Sharaa the international community's support for the new Syria and its solidarity with the country during the reconstruction phase and in consolidating its sovereignty and stability. The ministry considered this visit by such a large delegation an unprecedented international consensus regarding Syria and its new path, which requires significant international support and backing from international bodies and organizations, particularly the United Nations and its various agencies and bodies.

The UN delegation arrived earlier Thursday in Damascus, where they will meet with a number of officials and representatives of civil society, in addition to conducting field visits to some affected areas, especially the Jobar neighborhood in the capital.
