Syrian Ministry of Interior: 30 Killed in As-Suwayda Governorate Clashes

Doha: The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced that at least 30 people were killed and 100 others injured in a preliminary toll following armed clashes in As-Suwayda Governorate. In a statement, the Syrian Ministry said that the clashes took place between local military groups and tribes in Al-Maqous neighborhood of As-Suwayda city. It confirmed that units from its forces, in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, will begin a direct intervention in the area to end the conflict, stop the clashes, impose security, and pursue those responsible for the events to refer them to the relevant judiciary.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry is taking these measures to restore order and ensure the safety of civilians in the region. The intervention aims to prevent further escalation and bring those accountable to justice, highlighting the government's commitment to stabilizing the situation.

The clashes have raised concerns over the ongoing tensions between various groups in Syria. The Ministry's decision to coordinate with the Ministry of Defense underscores the seriousness of the situation in As-Suwayda.
