Syrian-Indian talks to enhance cooperation and training in communications field

Minister of Communications and Technology, Iyad al-Khatib, discussed with the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, ways and prospects for cooperation in communications and information technology field in terms of training and qualifying cadres and exchanging experiences between Syria and India.

Al-Khatib pointed out the importance of benefiting from cooperation with India in the technology and software field through training specialized Syrian cadres from the public and private sectors.

Al-Khatib appreciated all forms of support provided by India to Syria and its people.

The ministry is currently working on signing a new memorandum of understanding to establish specialized qualitative courses in the Syrian-Indian Center of Excellence at the National Authority for Information Technology Services and to increase opportunities to benefit from the center with its technologies and equipment by opening branches for it in the governorates, especially in light of the digital transformation strategy, al-Khatib noted.

In turn, Minister Muraleedharan highlighted the endeavor to train a big number of Syrian students, increase their experience and upgrade their competence in a way that benefits them and and contributes to its technological progress.

Muraleedharan noted to his country’s interest in opening branches of other training centers for the benefit of Syria and its people and thus contributes to increasing the number of Syrian students trained in this field.
