Damascus: The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized its enduring commitment to fighting the ISIS group and ensuring the elimination of its safe havens on Syrian territory. Posting on its official account on X, the ministry called on the United States and the member states in the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS to back Syria's efforts in this regard.

According to Qatar News Agency, Syria extends its condolences to the families of the victims from the Syrian and American security personnel who were killed in the terrorist attacks that occurred in Palmyra and northern Syria last week, the Ministry said.

The Ministry further added that these losses demonstrate the importance of reinforcing international cooperation to combat terrorism, stressing that the relevant entities carried out a precision security operation in Palmyra in coordination with the General Intelligence Directorate and the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, resulting in the apprehension of five suspects.
