Sudanese Army Announces Downing of Drones Targeting Air Base in Port Sudan

Port Sudan: The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced that Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted an air base and a warehouse in Port Sudan with suicide drones.

According to Qatar News Agency, SAF Spokesperson, Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah, stated that anti-aircraft missiles downed a number of drones, while some caused limited damage. An ammunition depot at Osman Digna Air Base was hit, causing scattered explosions without any casualties.

This incident marks the first drone attack on Port Sudan, the administrative capital where the government is based, since the outbreak of the war in April 2023.
