Ramallah – The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said that commodity exports and imports decreased during the month of July compared to July 2023.
The statistics explained in a press statement, today, Thursday, that commodity exports decreased during the month of July 2024 by 3% compared to the month of July 2023, as their value amounted to 137 million dollars.
He pointed out that exports to the territories of the 48 decreased during the month of July 2024 by 4% compared to the month of July 2023, and exports to the territories of the 48 constituted 91% of the total value of exports for the month of July 2024. While exports to the rest of the world increased by 6% compared to the month of July 2023.
Imports also decreased during July 2024 by 11% compared to July 2023, reaching a value of $621.2 million.
The “Statistics” pointed out that imports from within the 48 territories decreased during the month of July 2024 by 14% compared to the month of July 2023, and imports from the 48 territories constituted 56% of the total value of imports for the month of July 2024. Imports from the rest of the world also decreased by 7% compared to the month of July 2023.
As for the trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, it recorded a decrease in the value of the deficit by 13% during the month of July 2024 compared to the month of July 2023, as the value of the deficit reached 484.2 million dollars.
