Spain’s Marc Marquez Clinches Victory at Thailand GP in MotoGP Opener


Doha: In a thrilling start to the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, Spain’s Marc Marquez claimed victory at the Thailand Grand Prix, held at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram.



According to Qatar News Agency, the 32-year-old Honda rider secured first place ahead of his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who finished second as a Ducati Gresini rider. Italian Francesco Bagnaia, riding for Ducati, rounded out the podium in third.



Marquez also triumphed in yesterday’s sprint race, earning a perfect 37 points to begin the longest season in MotoGP history, with 22 races scheduled through the end of November.



With this victory, Marquez now leads the championship standings, gaining a crucial early advantage in his pursuit of an eighth MotoGP world title. The win also marked a milestone for Marquez, as he now has 112 MotoGP podiums, tying with his compatriot Dani Pedrosa.
