Qatar: HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim emphasized that cooperation and integration between the legislative and executive authorities are crucial for the success of the Shura concept in Qatar. This collaboration aims to serve the nation's supreme interests while implementing directives from the country's leadership.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the adjournment of the 4th session of the first legislative term, His Excellency highlighted the constructive cooperation between the Shura Council and the government. This relationship reflects the commitment of both entities to the nation's interests, embodying a model consistent with the distinctive characteristics of Qatari society.
His Excellency noted the Shura Council's performance over more than 50 years, characterized by responsibility and seriousness in its legislative duties. The council has effectively contributed to the national development process and supported Qatar National Vision 2030 by approving 83 draft laws during the first legislative session. These laws focus on improving economic conditions, enhancing investments, and developing education, health, and infrastructure sectors.
HE Al Ghanim also pointed out the Shura Council's role in supporting the Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030) by hosting ministers and officials to discuss ministries' programs and plans. These meetings facilitated monitoring development initiatives and exchanging views on future challenges.
Furthermore, the council has engaged in parliamentary diplomacy, participating in international forums and expressing Qatar's stance on regional and global issues. The council has strengthened its presence in organizations like the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Arab Parliament, advocating for human rights and sustainable development.
His Excellency concluded by expressing gratitude to Qatar's citizens and residents for their support and trust, which have been integral to the Shura Council's legislative and national duties.
