Doha: The Shura Council participated in the 20th Parliamentary Coordination Committee and Foreign Relations of the Legislative Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held virtually on Thursday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Shura Council was represented by HE Member Khalid bin Ganim Al Ali and HE Member Nasser bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, who are members of the Parliamentary Coordination Committee. The meeting focused on two memoranda received from the GCC General Secretariat. The first memorandum pertained to implementing a strategy aimed at enhancing Gulf parliamentary cooperation across various levels. The second memorandum discussed organizing a meeting between the legislative councils' representatives in the GCC countries and a delegation from the Andean Parliament. This initiative is in line with the decision made by the heads of the Gulf legislative councils during their 18th regular meeting, which was hosted by Abu Dhabi in November 2023.
