Shura Council Develops New Mechanisms to Enhance Legislative Efficiency

Doha: HE Secretary-General of the Shura Council Nayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud has announced the development of integrated working mechanisms within the General Secretariat to keep pace with the legislative and oversight work of the council. This initiative aims to enhance the council's effectiveness in fulfilling its duties and to align with the directives of the nation's leadership.

According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency discussed these developments on the occasion of the adjournment of the 4th session of the first legislative term, marking the 53rd annual session. He highlighted that the newly developed work mechanisms have significantly improved the performance of the General Secretariat. This has allowed it to efficiently execute its organizational role through an integrated technical and administrative support system, matching the demands of the council's legislative responsibilities. The Secretariat plays a crucial role in preparing for sessions and committee meetings, liaising with government entities, organizing meetings, and ensuring the readiness of committee reports for public sessions.

The Secretary-General also emphasized the importance of internal coordination within the council's various committees and departments. This coordination ensures that the committees can study topics thoroughly and maintain readiness throughout the legislative session, positively impacting the quality of reports and recommendations.

Concluding his remarks to QNA, HE the Secretary-General highlighted that the council's successes are attributed to the cohesive administrative structure and the integrated roles of its agencies, reflecting the council's vision of promoting institutional parliamentary work according to high standards.

The General Secretariat of the Shura Council serves as the executive body, assisting the council and its agencies in exercising their responsibilities in line with approved regulations and organizational rules, as well as the instructions from the Speaker of the Council.
