Shura Council and Algerian People’s National Assembly Fortify Parliamentary Ties with MoU

Doha: An official talks session took place on Sunday between the Shura Council and the People's National Assembly of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the parliamentary domain, and exploring ways to strengthen cooperation mechanisms.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, while the Algerian delegation was Headed by HE President of the People's National Assembly of Algeria Ibrahim Boughali, who is currently visiting Qatar.

HE Al Ghanim highlighted the visit of the Algerian President of the People's National Assembly as an indication of the strong relations between Qatar and Algeria, emphasizing the growth of bilateral relations at multiple levels.

HE Ibrahim Boughali expressed gratitude for the reception in Qatar, acknowledging the long-standing ties between the two nations and their ongoing collaboration in various fields. He praised Qatar's development achievements and noted the country's role model status in political, economic, and sports domains.

The session included discussions on enhancing parliamentary cooperation and stressed the importance of aligning the legislatures' positions in regional and international forums. The sides emphasized the significance of sharing expertise and increasing reciprocal visits to achieve the aspirations of both nations.

The discussions concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering cooperation and coordination between the legislatures, fostering pathways for sharing expertise, and enhancing parliamentary visits.

HE Boughali also toured the Shura Council's facilities, including Tamim bin Hamad Hall, wHere He was briefed on session operations and the technological systems in use.
