Deputy Head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, on Tuesday received at the Council’s headquarters, United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, who paid him a farewell visit upon winding her mission in Lebanon.
Discussions during the visit touched on developments in Lebanon and the region in light of the continuing war against Gaza and Lebanon.
Sheikh Al-Khatib wished Wronecka success in her new duties.
Al-Khatib stressed ‘the necessity of accelerating the completion of the presidential election entitlement in preparation for the formation of a rescue government that will address the worsening crises and strengthen the work of state institutions in a way that achieves the interest of the Lebanese and solves their daily living, social, health and educational predicaments.’
