Several International Films Screening in Doha Cinemas This Week

Doha: Qatari cinemas are screening a variety of films this week, coinciding with their releases in cinemas around the world. These films range from action, crime, comedy, and horror.

According to Qatar News Agency, in the action category, 'Striking Rescue,' directed by Siyu Cheng, stars Tony Jaa and Philip Keung. This film revolves around a Muay Thai fighter, portrayed by Tony Jaa, who wages a fierce campaign of revenge in the city after his wife and daughter are murdered by an organized criminal gang.

Also screening is 'The Toxic Avenger,' where a wronged sanitation worker named Winston Gooze transforms into a superhero known as the Toxic Avenger after a horrific toxic accident. The film is directed by Macon Blair and stars Peter Dinklage, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon.

Among the action films being screened is 'Duchess', which tells the story of a working-class woman who becomes an anti-heroine in the world of crime and diamond smuggling. Directed by Neil Marshall, it stars Philip Winchester, Charlotte Kirk, and Colm Meaney.

In the comedy genre, 'Freakier Friday' follows the lives of Tess and Anna 22 years after the identity swap incident, as they find themselves facing new challenges after marrying and starting a family. The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, and Mark Harmon, and is directed by Nisha Ganatra.

Cinemas will also be screening the horror thriller, 'The Home,' which tells the story of a young man who works in a private care home and later discovers that the residents harbor sinister intentions and mysterious motives. Directed by James DeMonaco, it stars Pete Davidson and John Glover.

Regarding films still showing in theaters, 'Afterburn,' is being shown among other diverse cinematic works.
