Doha: Somali authorities said that seven members of the Al Qaeda-affiliate, Al Shabaab militant group, were eliminated in an intelligence and security operation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the operation took place in the village of Buulo-Xoog, in the Buq-Aqable area of the Hiiraan region, in central Somalia.

It added that the vehicles had been under close surveillance before they were struck, destroying two military transport trucks loaded with weapons and fighters.
