Israeli enemy warplanes on Thursday targeted Barakat forest located in the outskirts of the southern Lebanese town of Jdeidet Marjeyoun, behind the Marjeyoun Governmental Hospital, with an airstrike. This resulted in igniting fires in the pine trees of the mentioned forest.
Immediately, teams from the Lebanese Red Cross, the Health Department, and Lebanese Civil Defense vehicles from the Marjeyoun and Qleia centers rushed to the scene and worked to extinguish the fires in cooperation with the town’s residents.
This is the second time that Jdeidet Marjeyoun has been targeted during this war. Previously, it was targeted with an airstrike on a center of the Amal Movement in the town center a few months ago, leading to the martyrdom of three movement members.
While no human casualties were reported in today’s airstrike, it resulted in the shattering of glass in some commercial shops and neighboring houses, including the Marjeyoun police station located in the town’s governmental serial.
