The Saudi technical team concerned with reopening the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Damascus has discussed with Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Ayman Sousan, the resumption of the work of the Saudi diplomatic mission in Damascus.
“The Saudi technical team concerned with reopening the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Syrian Arab Republic arrived Saturday in the capital, Damascus, in implementation of the decision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to resume the work of its diplomatic mission there,” Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Saturday.
The ministry added: “The Saudi technical team, headed by Ghazi bin Rafi Al-Anzi, met Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Ayman Sousan, and the Director of the Communication and Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Enfwan al-Naeb, at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus.”
Syria and Saudi Arabia have announced the resumption of the work of their diplomatic missions in Riyadh and Damascus on May 9th, based on the deep ties binding the peoples of the two countries and in an embodiment of their aspirations.
