Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Labs Opens Registration for 7th Feature Films Program

Jeddah: The Red Sea Film Labs, part of the Red Sea Film Foundation, announced Sunday the opening of registration for the 7th feature films program. The registration will continue until Sept. 15, as part of the persistent efforts to support young filmmakers, advance their skills, and help them realize their cinematic projects.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program, formerly known as the Red Sea Lodge, is one of the foremost creative initiatives in the field of filmmaking. It represents a comprehensive platform aimed at supporting cinematic talents from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, as well as Asia and Africa, through an intensive training and professional development program.

The initiative intends to promote the presence of Saudi and regional cinema on the global production stage and to support creators' vision in narrating their stories through innovative artistic methods that enrich the cinematic landscape. This new program is open to cinematic projects of rising young directors and producers within creative works that focus on augmenting texts and artistic capabilities with a series of professional workshops supervised by global experts in various filmmaking areas.

The program features six training workshops in an educational atmosphere that helps advance projects and convert ideas into films ready for screening. It also offers training for producers in artistic, strategic, and productive aspects, alongside participants, to forge a global occupational network that fosters opportunities to engage with international markets.

Finally, the program will conclude by displaying the shortlisted projects within the Red Sea Market, which is poised to be held on the margins of the sixth Red Sea International Film Festival 2026. Awards will be accorded to the best participating projects, with decision-makers from distributors, funders, and producers in attendance.
