Riyadh: Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have agreed to initiate an Economic Cooperation Framework, emphasizing their mutual commitment to bolstering trade and investment relations for shared benefits. The announcement came following a meeting between Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Riyadh.
According to Qatar News Agency, the joint statement released highlighted plans to engage in several strategic and high-impact projects across economic, trade, investment, and development sectors. These efforts aim to enhance cooperation between the two governments, empower the private sector, and increase bilateral trade.
The framework identifies priority sectors such as energy, industry, mining, information technology, tourism, agriculture, and food security. Both countries are exploring multiple joint economic initiatives, including memorandums of understanding for an electricity interconnection project and energy cooperation.
This framework underscores a shared vision between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to establish a sustainable partnership across various economic, trade, and investment domains.
