The Republic of Angola supports a political solution based on compromise to the Sahara dispute.
In a joint statement issued, on Tuesday in Rabat, at the end of the 3rd session of the Moroccan-Angolan Joint Cooperation Commission, co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola, Téte Antonio, the Angolan official stated that his country “encourages the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy, Staffan Mistura, to find a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution based on compromise”.
The two ministers also reiterated their unwavering commitment to the principles of international law and legality, and to respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, according to the joint statement.
