Russian Interior Ministry Puts ICC President on Wanted List

Russias Interior Ministry said Monday that it had placed the President of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Piotr Hofmanski on its wanted list.

Hofmanski is “wanted under an article of the Russian Criminal Code,” according to the Russian Interior Ministry’s data base.

In March, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian presidential commissioner for children’s rights, on charges of illegal deportation of “Ukrainian children”.

According to data issued by the Ukrainian government, Russia transferred about 20,000 Ukrainian children to the Crimean Peninsula, and from there to Russia.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had announced that the Ukrainian children who were evacuated from combat zones and are on Russian territory can return if their families request this.
