Russian Diana Shnaider Powers to Mexican Monterrey Open Title

Monterrey: Russian Diana Shnaider, the world No. 3 seed, captured the Monterrey Open WTA 500 title after defeating her compatriot, the No. 2 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova, in the final with a score of 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. The 21-year-old Shnaider secured the fifth individual title of her career after a showdown that lasted two hours and 11 minutes.

According to Qatar News Agency, Shnaider took the opening set in just half an hour with her powerful serves. Alexandrova responded in the second set to level the match, but Shnaider regained control in the decider to seal the championship.
