Doha: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that its air defense systems have shot down 159 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory. In a statement, the Ministry said that most of the drones were downed over western regions of Russia, but noted that at least six were intercepted over the Moscow region, which has a population of over 20 million.

According to Qatar News Agency, since the beginning of the war, Russia and Ukraine have been exchanging near-daily reports claiming to have repelled attacks from the other side. These reports, however, cannot be independently verified due to the ongoing war and the combat conditions that have persisted since Feb. 24, 2022.
