Doha: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the elimination of 1,250 Ukrainian soldiers during the past 24 hours.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on the progress of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the Ministry said that over the past 24 hours, the Southern Group forces managed to capture the town of Oleksandro-Kalynove in Donetsk. Meanwhile, the Western Group forces improved their positions along the frontlines, and 1,250 Ukrainian military personnel were eliminated.

The statement added that air defense systems shot down a guided aerial bomb as well as 338 Ukrainian drones.

Since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, both Russia and Ukraine have been issuing reports claiming to repel attacks from the other side, without independent verification of these claims due to the ongoing war and combat conditions since February 24, 2022.
