Moscow: HE Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the State of Qatar, Dmitry Dogadkin, stated that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Moscow underscores the robust ties between Russia and Qatar. The Ambassador emphasized that Moscow and Doha operate based on mutual respect and consideration of each other's national interests.

According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency highlighted the longstanding relationship between Russia and Middle Eastern countries, noting that Russia and Qatar will celebrate 37 years of diplomatic relations in 2025. He reflected on the resilience of this partnership through various international changes, maintaining a steady progression.

His Excellency underlined the shared principles that guide Moscow and Doha, focusing on mutual respect and collaboration to support the global system centered around the United Nations. He reiterated that both countries advocate for conflict resolution through dialogue and diplomacy.

The Ambassador noted the significance of the visit in the context of both nations' roles in fostering a multipolar international system and enhancing solidarity among countries in The Global South and East. The bilateral summit will aim to deepen cooperation across various sectors, driven by shared aspirations to elevate political and economic relations.

He further mentioned the active efforts by Russia and Qatar to implement the consensus reached by President Vladimir Putin and HH the Amir, highlighting key meetings, including their encounter in Kazakhstan in July 2024 and a phone call on March 21.

Ongoing communications between the countries were also emphasized, particularly between HE Sergey Lavrov and HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, with significant meetings held in Doha. Lavrov was received by HH the Amir during these occasions.

His Excellency concluded by noting the broad spectrum of regional and international issues discussed by Russia and Qatar, both bilaterally and within international frameworks such as the United Nations, the Arab League, and the Russia-GCC Strategic Dialogue.
