Doha: Russia's Foreign Ministry announced that communications with the United States remain active and have never ceased. The ministry emphasized the ongoing dialogue as a sign of continued diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

According to Qatar News Agency, Alexander Gusarov, Head of the North Atlantic Affairs Department, highlighted a 2025 dialogue involving Russian Ambassador to the US, Alexander Darchiev, and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Sonata Coulter. This dialogue led to agreements aimed at improving the functioning of the diplomatic missions of both countries.

Gusarov further stated that Russia has proposed the resumption of direct flights to the United States. He suggested that this move could enhance humanitarian, trade, and investment ties between the two nations, placing the decision in the hands of Washington.
