Moscow: The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 59 Ukrainian drones over seven regions in Russia overnight.

According to Qatar News Agency, operational air defense systems destroyed and intercepted 59 Ukrainian drones last night, the Ministry said in a statement issued Sunday.

The Ministry added that 29 drones were destroyed over the territory of Rostov Oblast, 20 over the territory of Astrakhan Oblast, three each over the territory of Voronezh and Volgograd Oblasts, two over Crimea, and one each over the territory of Kursk and Saratov Oblasts.

The Russian-Ukrainian war continues to pose a major challenge to the international community, amid persistent US attempts to find diplomatic solutions to stop the war and establish peace.
